The Launcher will begin with the option to select the language for the installation.

Next you will have a window with the license agreement. Click “I accept the agreement” and “Next” to continue.

2. Select the destination folder. The directory as it exists in the installer is fine. It is important that path end in “SAi Production Suite“. There should be no number included as all subsequent installs with be installing over the old folder.

2-1 Optional but not recommended. We always suggest keeping Flexi on your main Drive, however there are use cases in which you will install on a separate internal Drive. If you are installing to another internal such as a D or E drive, then you must create the folder for the correct path and Browse to that location (i.e. create the “Program Files” folder, then then the “SAi” folder within that, then the “SAi Production Suite” folder within that folder).

2-2 Note that if you are reinstalling the same build there will be a prompt to notify you. Click “OK” to continue.

3.  Select the components you wish to install:

  • Samples: Includes a big selection of images and files to test and play with in Flexi
  • SafeNet Sentinel Installer: Only select this if you have a USB hardware dongle from the old licensing system.
  • Connect: Installs the SAi Connect utility. Note : If you deselect this option and already have Connect installed an optional secondary pop up window will display to inform you that by not selecting it Connect will not uninstall, but simply not update. Just select “Yes” to continue with the install process.

4. Select where you want to install the shortcuts for Flexi. This is strictly for the Start Menu. The installer will still put shortcuts on your desktop regardless. Once again it is important that no numbers are included and that it just says “SAi Production Suite“.

5. Click Install.

6. The Software will now Install. Please wait for it to finish.
Note. Depending on the speed of your computer or laptop. This can take some time particularly the initial sight of updating the C++ and “Stopping Services”. If these prompts seem to hang for a while, please be patient and don’t try to interrupt them as they are important to the install.

Activating your Software

Once the installation is finished, the License Manager window will open. Copy paste your Activation Code. This is located in the email you received after purchasing the software OR permanently available on your saicloud.com account. The Activation Code will never change.

Ensure you are connected to the internet and click “Next.”

Once you’ve entered in your activation code, the License Manager will attempt to communicate with the SAi server over the internet. If you Activation code is correct, it will say “Licensing Successful. Then click “Finish.”

Next, the Install Manager will open. First, ensure your Language is correct.

You will then have 3 options you can choose to check.
1 Create Desktop Shortcut : This will install (depending on your license) Flexi Design, or Flexi Complete and Production Manager to your desktops available space.
2. Clear Application’s Previous Preferences : This option is mainly for tech support. We make check it or instruct you to check the box while troubleshooting issues with Flexi. This option clears Windows Registry information about the Flexi application.
3. Copy Data From Another License/Installation : This option moving forward will only be necessary in two use cases. 1: You are updating to Flexi Complete from older versions of Flexi such as Flexi Complete 24, 22, or 19, etc, for these cases follow option (a). 2: Your license has changed due to moving licenses within the company, or you license expired and you purchased a new one. For these cases follow option (b)

Copy Data will no longer be necessary in the future for Flexi Complete when updating the software because we now store all of your preferences and setup in a central location and it is gathered automatically on any future Update or Reinstall of Flexi Complete.

Select the options that you want and hit “OK”

New FC Install Step 11.jpg

a) To copy data from older version of Flexi you will use the “Folder” option. Normally the older versions of Flexi can be found one of the following directories:

C:\Program Files(x86)\SAi\SAi Production Suite 19

C:\Program Files\SAi\SAi Production Suite 21

C:\Program Files\SAi\SAi Production Suite 22

C:\Program Files\SAi\SAi Production Suite 24

If you have multiple folders of SAi Production Suite 19, 21 or 22 and are not sure which one to use (such as 191, 192, or 211) it’s usually safe to pick the last one. If you’re still not sure, find your Flexi shortcut on your Desktop and then right click it and select “Open File Location”. In the address bar, you’ll see which one to use. (Don’t go any deeper than the Production Suite folder.)

Select which settings you wish to bring forward to your new installation and then click Copy. It’s okay to leave them all checked if you are not sure which options to bring over. Note that this can only be done if you are installing on the same computer.
The options for “Color Swatch Libraries” and “Preferences” are unchecked by default. The option for Preferences (including job and setup list) will copy your printer and queue list.

b) If you are reinstalling or updating Flexi Complete but you have changed your Software ID and license for any reason, you will select your previous Software ID from the License ID option and then select the options you want then click “Copy”.
