Course content
This course will review how to modify a relief surface using a bitmap. The specific parameters to use and what impact they will have on the final relief product. Will also review different situations where a bitmap can be helpful to create the right 3D surface.
This section will examine the kinds of photos that will produce night surfaces.
Will show an example of how to create a 3D sign with a wood grain background using a bitmap for the texture.
Will show how to take a photo that includes 3D Surface info and create a 3D relief.
How to create a lithophane using a photograph. A lithophane is a relief made of a semi opaque material that will show the photographic image when a placed in front of a light source.
Requirements
- This is a beginner course so everyone who is interested in learning the principles of EnRoute are welcome to the course.
- This is a live online virtual class held on Zoom, so you’ll need a computer with a mic and camera to fully participate.
- It is recommended that you have the most recent (V7) EnRoute software. We will provide a free trial for use during the class if needed.

EJ began his CAD CAM career as part of the SAi Product Support Group back in 1999, joining shortly after the merger of Scanvec Inc and Amiable Technologies to form SAi. Shortly after joining SAi, EJ became a specialist in SAi’s CAD CAM software and has been involved with the current EnRoute Software ever since. Over the course of that time, EJ has conducted many training classes and workshops on EnRoute Software and related applications.
