PDF? EPS? SVG? What's the best format?
Here is a great article on this question. What format do you think is best?
When Adobe released Illustrator 3 They had Totally ReTooled the EPS Format. The Original EPS had too many "Quirks & "Quarks" Quark,,, Get it? Illustrator 2 had plugged many of the holes but they were still making patches and fixes weekly. At this point, Adobe had enough and Started from Scratch. In 1989 EPS 3 was built and Illustrator 3 was released. Now that you know the back ground you need to know that ALL Future Versions of EPS were built off the EPS 3 foundation. For basic to intermediate files, always export as EPS 3. It is The Crown Victoria of file Formats.. If I am sending files to the Big Production houses like Gregory 1 in Ks , they require PDF. Flexi exports pdfs and EPS just fine. The SVG. These files are a welcome breath of fresh Air when you need to snag a Logo off the Cust Web Page. But importing them into Flexi Design (Mac) blows. However I keep AI for Typefaces and converting SVG to Export AS EPS 3. When imported and the file is clean I do a final set on the size.
